Strong and Steady – Mondays from 11am to 12 noon

This is a 12 week programme delivered through North Yorkshire Sport and Age UK and is for the prevention of trips and falls. It is for anyone who is worried about trips and falls or who has had a fall. Delivered by a friendly experienced instructor Strong and Steady is a gentle exercise programme to improve your balance and strength and get you up and about enjoying everyday activities. Have a cup of tea and socialise afterwards. The cost is £5 per session which includes tea and biscuits.

French conversationEvery other Wednesday from 10.30am to 12 noon

Come along for French conversation with experienced tutor Liz Sowter in a relaxed and supportive environment. You don’t need to be fluent and it is fine to make mistakes. The emphasis will be on communication but we will work on vocabulary and structure to give you confidence and help you progress. The course is ongoing and costs £40 for each 6 weeks or join at any time for £8 per week.

Circuit Training Class – Wednesdays from 7.30 to 8.30pm

This is a high intensity circuit based class building strength and cardio vascular fitness. The cost is £5. Come along and improve your fitness levels.  The course is supported by North Yorkshire County Council Stronger Communities Fund.

Moodbooster sessions – Thursdays from 10am to 12noon

Would you like to lift your mood a little?   Come along on Thursday mornings from 10am to 12 noon.  Join us for tea and biscuits and carry on boosting your mood.  Sessions are free.

Sewing workshops – Thursdays from 2 to 4pm ( please note new time)

There will be some changes to the way these sessions are run. The tutor Fran will still offer basic ‘getting to know your sewing machine’ sessions but based around one or two simple bag making projects. New for this term there will be the opportunity to tackle clothes making. Patterns available or bring your own and bring fabric. There are three sewing machines to use or bring your own.  The cost is £5 per session.

Step Class – Thursdays from 7 to 8pm.

This is a Step class where you can work out to your level. The cost is £5 per session. Places should be booked.

Please Note

If you are a Premier Plus gym member this includes attendance at two weekly classes so circuit, sewing and step could be part of this.  Contact us for more details.

                                              Regular ongoing events

Experimental Art Group

Description: Students attending the regular watercolour classes with Moira Metcalfe were so inspired that when she moved away from the area, some of them decided to continue themselves as a peer led ‘Experimental Art ‘ group.
From time to time we are fortunate to have a few of these sessions run by guest tutors who are local experienced artists.

When: Each Thursday morning from 10.30am-1pm.

Cost:  £5 per week (£15 when led by local artist).

Craft sessions

We are delighted to host a series of craft sessions led by local experienced tutors. Sessions will include making keepsake rag dolls; doing patchwork using an easy way of English Paper Piecing (Lazy day Hexies);flower bunting;…and much more.  Dates and details are still being finalised so watch this space!
